Lonnie R. Christain, 73, of Hornersville, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born Friday, Sept. 19, 1930, in Hornersville, a son of the late Lou Raymond and Oma Mae Dale Christian, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors.

On Nov. 12, 1954, in Hernando, Miss., he married Erna L. Springer.

Survivors include three sons, Ricky Christain and wife, Roxann, of Paisley, Fla., Bruce Christain and wife, Debbie, of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Brett Christain and wife, Sally, of Grand Blanc, Mich.; three sisters, Dena Yound and Milva Keating, both of Hornersville and Lessie Dale of Alton, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son, Danny R. Christian; a sister, Leah Cochran and three brothers, LuEarl, Noble and Herman Christain.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers were Mike James, Terry Keating, Gary Don Young, C.H. Young, Larry Christian and David Earl Christain.
