Son of Patrick Collins born abt 1834 in Ireland, living in Blakeley, Scott, Minnesota working as rail road laborer in 1880 with wife Mary Lynch Collins also from Ireland and family.

John Daniel Collins, 67, died yesterday afternoon in the residence at Jarvisburg, N.C, after an illness of two weeks. He was a native of Minnesota, but had made his home in this vicinity for the past 21 years. He was the widower of Mrs. Amelia Britten Collins and is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Collins and St. Clair Collins, both of Currituck, N.C.; one half brother, James A. Beacham, of Norfolk; two half sisters, Mrs. Louis E. Capps, of Princess Anne County and Mrs. Doll Bowden, of Corolla, N.C.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Jr O.U.A.M. No. 71, of Norfolk.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
