Mrs. Lois Brown McGee, 88, of 470 Hudson Street, Turky, went home to be with her Lord Friday.
Mrs. McGee, born in Chatham County, was the daughter of the late Albert Brown and Lossie Welch Brown and the widow of William "Hoot" McGee. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a great grandson, William Tew, two sisters, Mary Clark and Dorothy Ingram and a brother, James E. Brown.
She retired from Hamilton Beach. She was a faithful member of Turkey Baptist Church and the VFW. She was always young at heart. One of her greatest joys was playing in the Golden Agers Band.
She is survived by four daughters, Patsy Tew and husband DeLeon of Turkey, Cathy Honrine and husband Hugh of Salemburg, Janice Phillips and husband Jeffery of Lake Worth, FL; and Phyllis McGee of Turkey, ten grandchildren, Lynn Hoskins and husband Johnny, Arthur Tew, Jr., Shannon Honrine, Lisa Ottaway and husband John, Jamie Rogers and husband Jason, Heather English and husband Brian, Dana Phillips, Nicole Lassiter, Jordan Lassiter and Gunner Davis, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family recieved friends Monday afternoon following the services at the church.
The Funeral services were held at 2pm, Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Turkey Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Bryan officiating.
Burial was made in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Turkey, NC.
