Funeral services for John Beck age 89 of Snyder, NE will be on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Snyder, NE with interment in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge, NE and will continue on Tuesday from 9 a.m. till service time at the church.
Mr. Beck passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.
John Allen Beck was born on May 26, 1922 at Snyder, NE to Julius and Alma (Mundorf) Beck. He attended Dodge Co. Rural School District #41 and Fremont Public Grade School. He began farming and raising cattle at an early age southwest of Snyder. On June 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Agnes Durkop at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Papillion, NE. The couple lived on the farm until moving into Snyder in 1981 and John still continued to tend to the cattle and remain active in farming until this year. John moved into the Elkhorn Valley Villa in May of 2011. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was a trustee for numerous years. John enjoyed dancing, going to the grandchildren's ballgames, and attending family gatherings.
