ADA - Services for Clyde Marland Nickell, 72, Ada, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Danny McCracken will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Nickell died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home. He was born June 25, 1934, at Allen to James Harve and Doshia Livesay Nickell.

He attended school at Red Oak and graduated from Allen High School in 1953. He also attended a Police Academy.
Mr. Nickell was a policeman for the Ada Police Department, retiring as a detective in 1978 after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Tecumseh Full Gospel Church, and he served as deacon and Sunday school superintendent in the Assembly of God Church. In the 1950s, while living in Kerman, Calif., he served as a volunteer fireman.

He married Rolana McCulley on Feb. 14, 1997, in Ada.
Survivors include his wife, Rolana Nickell, of the home; a son, Dennis Nickell, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Rhonda Cupps and husband Roger, Ada, and Shana Roberson and husband Aaron, Ada; three sisters, Azell Hogue, Allen, Patsy McDuffie, Allen, and Ruby Hollman and husband Carl, Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Kristen Nanni and husband Chip, Brandon Nickell, Brittany Cupps, Koby Cupps, Brooklyn Cupps, Joshua Roberson, Caleb Roberson, and Canaan Roberson; one great-grandchild, Chase Nanni.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rick Nickell and his wife Debra, two grandsons, Michael Nickell, and Greg Nickell, a granddaughter, Kimberly Nickell, six brothers, six sisters, and his best friend, Richard Pete Gray.

Bearers will be Brandon Nickell, Josh Roberson, Bart Oliver, James Lee Nickell, Harvey Hogue, and Aaron Gray. Honorary bearers will be Britt Oliver, Aaron Roberson, Roger Cupps, Clem Tollett, Gilbert Cross, and Chip Nanni.
