The Funeral – Amerilla Joy Smith b-1 Aug 1827 d-13 Aug 1907
Of Mrs. A. J. Van Driesen occurred Thursday afternoon from the Evangelical Church. 
 
Mrs E. Harris and Kate Butlerwith Mr. F. Theiss at the organ, rendered the solemn music.  The officiating clergyman was Rev. F. Theiss, assisted by Rev. N. M. Stokes.  The 23rd Psalm, the deceased's favorite portion of scripture, was the text of the sermon in which the relations between God and man formed the main thought. 
 
The burial was in the Oswego Cemetery by the side of her husband who preceded her there nearly eighteen years ago, the flowers were many and beautiful. 
 
The deceased was a native of the state of New York and was married there. The family came to Oswego forty years ago, and with the exception of a temporary stay with a daughter at Austin during her sickness has been living here and in the house in which she died ever since. 
 
The survivors of the family are four daughters and two sons. viz: Chloe A. Brownell of Oklahoma; Ella Gilon, New York City; Alvira C. Tod, Austin; Lilly V. Herren, Oswego; Duane, Texas; Alviron Pennsylvania; all present at the funeral except the latter. 
 
She was grandmother and great-grandmother to many children. 
 
The pallbearers were H.C.Cutter, D. Hall, Andrew Shoger, A.S. Dwyre, H.S. Clark and L. Rank.
