Jessie Lee Davis, 85, of 414 E. Meadow Lawn Ave., Manito, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Pekin Manor in Pekin, IL.
Born March 23, 1926, in Broughton to Elmer and Effie Hardesty Allen, she married Clarence "Lefty" Davis on April 12, 1946, in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Rozanna Davis of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Curt (Tammy) Davis of Farmington; one daughter-in-law, Dolly Davis of Manito; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Overton Allen of Biloxi, Miss.; and one sister, Beulah Baker of Fair Grove, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Davis; one daughter, Kellie Jo Davis; and one granddaughter, Christy Davis.
Jessie was baptized at Egypt Community Church in rural Manito many years ago.
A homemaker, she enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener and bird watcher.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Dillon.
