Mrs. W C Davis of Tucson Passes Away

Mrs. W. C. Davis one of the best known pioneer women of Tucson, passed away Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles W Williams in San Jose, Cal. She was 78 years of age and had been ill only a short time.

Mrs. Davis left Tucson in July, going to Los Angeles. She was taken ill and her daughter, Mrs. Williams was called. She took Mrs. Davis to San Jose where she passed away Saturday.

Mrs. Davis came to Tucson in the year 1879, coming all the way from Yuma in a governmant ambulance.

She married W. C. Davis in Tucson. He died about ten years ago. Herbert B Tenney, who died six years ago was her only son. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Charles W Williams of San Jose and by two grand children, Tenney D Williams of Tucson and Mrs. Humphries of Louisville, Ky.

The funeral of Mrs. Davis was held this afternoon from the Williams residence at San Jose. The services were largely attended.

Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery, San Jose.
