Lucy Keyes Childress of Forest passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011. She was the wife of King Childress.

Born in Bedford County on March 23, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Carroll Keys and Margaret Rucker Keyes.

Lucy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family very much and also enjoyed gardening, flowers and nature.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, John W. Keatts, Nancy K. Mitchell, Norma K. Henderson and her husband Otis, Ronald W. Keatts and friend, Kristi all of Lynchburg; a sister Mary K. Gaddy and her husband, Billy of Lynchburg; 6 grand-children, Edwina (Wade) Landers, Gregory Bagby, Kimberly Young, Audrey (Stephen) Gray, Kristy (Heath) McKenna, Michael Keatts; 7 great-grand children and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011 in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, 18121 Forest Road, Lynchburg, VA. by the Rev. Lenn Lloyd.
