Marian L. Pope

LIBERTY, Ind. - Marian L. Pope, age 96, of Liberty, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at her home.

Born Oct. 17, 1914, in Liberty to Ora and Elsie Hart Creek, she was a life-long resident of Union County. Marian taught school for 23 years at Kitchel Elementary School. She was a member of Hannas Creek Christian Church. Marian enjoyed traveling and her home life.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Pope, to whom she was married on Dec. 24, 1969; stepson, Mark A. Pope of Richmond; three grandchildren, Nikki, Deana and Jeffrey Link all of Chicago; sister, Ava Karberg of Lafayette; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Link; sons, Thomas A. Link and Frederick Link; and brother, Allen Creek.

Everyone is invited to a graveside service for Marian L. Pope which will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. (Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond.
