He was born January 9, 1918 in Bountiful, son of Tracy and Byrnina Day Burningham. He married Merle Whitesides Adams on August 18, 1937 in Bountiful. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple in 1982.
He was a veteran of World War II and then was employed by Hill Air Force Base as a fire fighter for thirty years. He was an avid hunter an loved the out of doors. He was loved by all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, of Bountiful; children, Jerry and Kathy Burningham; Howard and Vicki Burningham, all Bountiful; Steve and Vickie Burningham; Brenda and Myron Wildes, all Centerville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Burningham, Kuna, Idaho. Preceded in death by his parents who died when he was one year of age and was one of four siblings raised by his grandmother Martha Ashby Burningham. Also preceded by a brother, Lawrence Burningham; and a sister, Lucille Eggett.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 1996 at 1:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Funeral Home, where friends may call Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to the services.
