A native of Neshoba County, Mississippi, Lloyd F. Adcock was the son of Washington Henry Adcock and Daisy Strickland. He moved to Iberia Parish, Louisiana in 1939 to work for Hopeland Plantation, first as a mechanic and then as plantation manager. He married Genevieve Eudora Faulk on March 16, 1940. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd, as they were often called, had seven children, born spanning the years 1941 to 1963: Virginia Anne (Hebert), Barbara Jean (Boutte), Kenneth Lloyd, Glenn Wayne, Wanda Lynne (Cassel), David Alan, and Pamela Ruth (Seale). "Mrs. Lloyd" or "Ginny" died in March of 1981, and Lloyd died just over ten years later on January 27, 1992. He is buried in the Holy Family Cemetery on Curtis Lane on a row nearest to Curtis Lane and Highway 90.
