According to his obituaries and death certificate, both his birth and death are off one day in comparison to his tombstone.

One of three victims of a train accident near Disko, Pleasant Township, Wabash County. The boiler of the engine exploded. Extracts from two longer articles:

"L.A. Fisher had lived in Huntington county most of his life. He began his railroad career beginning as a brakeman November 18, 1890. He was promoted to conductor but several years ago resigned and worked in the train service on the C., C. & L. [Chicago, Cincinnati, and Louisville] He returned to Huntington several years ago and engaged in operating the Saratoga pool room. Having a liking for railroad work he sold out and resumed his employment in the Erie train service October 19, 1905. He was a member of Atlantic Division, No. 120, Order Railway Conductors."
Huntington Herald (Huntington, Ind.) 29 Dec 1905 p5.

"Mr. Fisher is a son of Silas B. Fisher of Polk township. He was born in Wayne Township December 29, 1867. For years he lived in the southern part of the county. He was married nearly twenty years ago to Miss Louisa Ehret. One child was born. The young lady is now living with her aunt, Mrs. D. W. Zintsmaster at Mardenis.

In later years Mr. Fisher married a Miss Emley of this city who mourns the sudden loss of a kind husband. One son is left also. He is Earl Fisher, who is but six years old.

Besides the aged father, Mrs. Martha Kellam and Mrs. Mary Bare of Polk township, sisters and one brother, John A. Fisher, survive him."
