Nellie Bennett, 72, passed away Monday at Mercy Hospital in Waverly where she had been a patient for ten days following a stroke. She was born Sept 18, 1882 near Finchford, daughter of George and Ella Sands. She married John Bennett in 1908 and he passed in 1932. She leaves four daughters: Pearl Siems of Dumont, Alice Arns of Waverly, Laura and Liddie of Waterloo; four sons: Roy of Deer Lodge, MT; Roger of Hudson, Henry of Cawker City, KS; John at home; eight grandchildren; five brothers: Frank, Sam and Will Sands of Cedar Falls; Henry of Waterloo; Elmer of Shell Rock; one sister: Mrs. Henry Dorman of Cedar Falls. One son, her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.
