4/29/1954- Tuttle Times:
Funeral services for D.D. Banta, 59, were held at the Church of Christ, Wednesday afternoon. Lester Stowe, of Minco, officiated. Mr Banta was born in Texas, 1/27/1895 and died 4/25/1954, at the Wesley hospital in Oklahoma City, of a heart attack after an illness of several months. He has lived in Tuttle since 1929, having moved from Pottowatomie county. He was a member of the Church of Christ being baptized by his father, W,M, Banta.
Survivors are his wife, Ruby of the Home, 3 sons, Loyle & Gerald of Tuttle, & Doyle of West Helena, Ark, 2 daughters, Mrs Thelma Morris of Minco, & Linda Beth of Porterville, Calif, and 4 grandchildren. An acapella choir sang "Farther Along", "Not Made With Hands", "Beyond The Sunset", & "Where The Soul Never Dies". Pallbearers were Horace Potter, V.T. Gannaway, Kay Nickels, Stevie Chenoweth, Dewey Edwards, & Ti Burleson. Burial was in the Fairlawn cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of the Sowers funeral home.
