Married Lewellen Allen Bandy 4 August 1874, Montgomery County, Mary Susan Doyle and Lew Bandy married on her 16th birthday. He was 18.
Mary was busy most of the time cooking and sewing, and her hobby was raising a beautiful flower garden. Family marveled at the lovely marigolds, zinnias, bachelor buttons and various other flowers, but those yellow and orange marigolds in full sun and along the border of Lew's vegetable garden surely presented a lovely picture.
She moved in with daughter, Rozetta and Ralph Harris after her husband, Lewis passed away.
Mary Susan Bandy's obituary reads:
'Mrs. Bandy confessed her faith in Christ in a meeting conducted by Reverend William A. Sunday and was united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Dumont. The pall bearers at her funeral were Dr. A. K. Meyer (Nera Bandy's husband), Vernon Bandy (son of Eldridge) and Oakley, Marvin, Donald and Merle Bandy (all sons of Oakley Bandy Sr.).
Note: Reverend Sunday is, or was better known as "Billie Sunday".
