Charles "Mike" Michael Olliff, 71, of Gastonia died Monday, July 25, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, N.C.
He was a native of Georgetown, S.C. and the son of the late William Olliff and Florie-Lee Williams Olliff.
Funeral service will be 3 PM, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Temple Emanuel, Gastonia with Dr. Charles Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends at the family residence Wednesday evening July 27, 2011 and Thursday evening, July 28, 2011.
Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
Mike was a member of Temple Emanuel, Gastonia. He was a avid golfer, history buff, worked at Webb Street School with autistic students, he received his degree in Political Science from Wofford College and was a volunteer with the Gaston Dance Theatre.
Mike is survived by his wife Naida "Nikki" Wein Olliff, sons, Brian Olliff of Charlotte, N.C., Chris Olliff of Charlotte, N.C., daughters, Melissa Thorner of Crestview, Florida, Jennifer Thorner of Gastonia, N.C., custodial granddaughter, Claire Webb, grandson, Quinn McCardie, brother, Bill Olliff of South Carolina, sister, Florrie Ollif of Charlotte, N.C.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Steven Olliff.
