Yon D. Armstrong, age 30, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at Grant Medical Center after a courageous battle with Sickle-Cell Disease. Member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies. Graduate of Franklin Heights High School, Columbus State Community College and The Ohio State University where he received his B.A. degree. Substitute Teacher with the Columbus Public School System for 3 years and was pursuing his teaching cerification at Otterbein College, actor with the Cam Talent Agency and spokesman for Ohio Sickle-Cell Association. Predeceased by father Arthur D. Armstrong. Survived by mother, Deborrha Armstrong; brother, Ian Armstrong; sister, Shannon Armstrong; grandmother, Annie B. Horn; devoted friend, Felicia McCord; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 12noon Monday, January 21, 2002 at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave. Bishop Sherman S. Watkins officiating. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
