Pleasant Edgar Everhart, 68, died at 11:30 A.M. yesterday at his home, Lexington, Rt. 1, following a short illness.
Mr Everhart was born in Davidson County June 7, 1886, son of Vance and Martha Crotts Everhart. He was a farmer.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Buelah Phillips Everhart; seven sons, Johnnie Everhart of Lexington, J.V. Everhart of the Navy, James Edgar Everhart of Lexington, Robert Lee, Reuben, Eddie, Robert, and Jerry Franklin Everhart, all of the home; one daughter, Miss Hilda Sue Everhart, of the home; six grandchildren; four half brothers, Gurley, Hollis, Reynolds, and Artis Everhart, all of Lexington, Rt. 1, and five half sisters, Mrs Charlie Jones and Mrs Arthur Tussey of Lexington, Mrs Zula Duffey of Morganton, Mrs Minnie Crotts of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Herb Lanning of Lexington, Rt. 1; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body was returned to the home at 3 P.M. today. Funeral services will be held at the home at 3 P.M. Tuesday, with the Rev. Harvey Koonts officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
