Funeral services for Mrs. D. Nettie Cate, 85, who died yesterday at her home, 322 Hall Avenue, Solvay, will be conducted at the home at 2 P.M. Saturday by the Rev. Charles N. Ouderkirk of Freeman Avenue Methodist Church. Burial will be in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
A native of Watertown, Mrs. Cate was the widow of Charles N. Cate and had been a resident of Solvay 45 years.
Her father, Gabriel D. Mellotte, was one of the old-time shoe manufacturers of Central New York.
Mrs. Cate was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Ladies' Aid Society of Freeman Avenue Methodist Church and the King's Daughters of Willing Circle.
Surviving are three sons,
Maitland A. of Syracuse,
Charles D. of Washington, D.C.,
and Herbert W. Cate of Solvay;
eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
