Charles A. Phillips, Sr.

Charles A. Phillips, Sr., age 75, died at 4:55 p.m. Saturday at the Gibson General Hospital after several months illness.

He was born in Kings Station on February 20, 1896 and resided in Princeton all of his life. He was a retired Potter-Brumfield employee and a member of the First Nazarene Church, and the American Legion Post 25. He was also a veteran of World War I.

Surviving him are his wife, Goldie A. Phillips; two sons, Charles A. Jr., Vice president Gibson County Bank and Princeton city councilman, and Robert E., postal employee of the Princeton post office; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Bradshaw of Evansville; and four grandchildren, Charles T. Phillips, Chicago, Ill., Michael Phillips, Princeton; and Linda and James Phillips, both of Princeton.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Colvin Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Watson officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery. Friends may call at the Colvin and Son Mortuary after 3 p.m. Monday.
