William Riley is a son of Christopher and Tabitha Green Coble. He is found in the 1850 Dade County, MO Census as William Coble, 15, born in TN; with his father Christopher, 49, NC; and siblings: May, 20, TN; George, 18, TN; David, 16, TN; William, 15, TN; Martha, 13, MO; Elie, 11, MO and Nancy, 10, MO. His mother Tabitha must have died in Missouri about 1840. His father Christopher's will was probated in March, 1860, Dade County, MO.

William is a Union Veteran of the Civil War.

The 1880 Dade County, MO Census lists William Coble, 46, with wife Mary, 30, and daughter of Rosetta, 6. In 1900 William and Mary state they have been married 26 years, and are the parents of one child, still living.

William was a farmer, age 82, at the time of his death from Heart Disease. C.E. Brown of Everton, MO is the informant on his MO Death Certificate. C.E. is Charles E Brown, the husband of daughter Rosetta.

The Greenfield Vedette, June 15, 1916 -- W.R. Coble, one of our oldest and best citizens, died suddenly of heart trouble Tuesday evening at his home on Depot Street. Uncle Bill, as he was called by everyone who knew him, was about 82 years of age, and had lived in eastern Dade county nearly all his life. Burial and funeral services at Antioch cemetery Thursday.
