Death of Dr. William H. Finley

The older residents of Delaware county will regret to learn of the death of Dr. William H. Finley at his home at Cascade on Saturday morning, November 13, 1909. Dr. Finley was a prominent physician and followed his profession at Hopkinton for twenty-five years. During this period he spent several years in the army, being assistant surgeon in the Twelfth Iowa regiment. After the war he returned to Hopkinton, where he became an influential figure in railroad circles. In 1883 he left Hopkinton and went to Franklin, Nebraska, where he entered the drug business. He has been a resident at Cascade for the past ten years.

Dr. Finley was born at Louisiana, Pike county, Missouri, February 15, 1831. In May 1861 Dr. Finley married Miss Lucy A. Cooley, who died at Franklin, Nebraska, on December 2, 1899. They adopted two children who are still living, John of Wyoming and Mrs. Nettie Clark of Omaha.
