Mrs. Grace Angel Gibbs, Age 79, of the Bowlings Branch Community passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at Smith County Health Care Center.
Mrs. Gibbs was born July 25, 1930 to the late Maggie Mundy and Norman L. Angel, Sr. .
She was married to James Milton "Buddy" Gibbs, Sr. on May 13, 1949, he preceded her in death on November 20, 1996. She was also preceded in death by five brothers: Donald Angel, Norman Angel, Jr., Luke Angel, Arthur Angel, and Fred Angel and one sister: Bobby Ruth Montgomery.
She worked at the Carthage Shirt Factory for over 30 years and was a member of the Hogans Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by: Son: James Milton "Duck" Gibbs, Sr. and his wife Sandy of Gordonsville, TN. Daughter: Sandra Gibbs of Hickman, TN. Three Grandchildren: A.J. Gibbs of Gordonsville, TN, Natane Davis of Van Nuys, CA., and Ryan Ray of Knoxville, TN.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Gibbs will be conducted Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 1 PM at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Eld. Charles Allen Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
The Gibbs family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM and again on Thursday after 11 AM.
