Robert D. Spurling, 48, of Seattle died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 10, 1976 at Riverton Hospital, Seattle.

Mr. Spurling was born in Sedro-Woolley, the son of Rev. and Mrs. Howard Spurling. He attended schools in Sedro-Woolley, Azusa Pacific College in Los Angeles, and Seattle Pacific College. He owned and piloted a weather research plane, for University of Washington, and owned an air freight business and flying school at Boeing Field.

Mr. Spurling established a Bible training center called The Way Inn on Military Road in Seattle for young people and Christian workers. The family suggests memorials be made to this program through the Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church in Seattle.

Survivors include his wife, Faye; and son, Mark David of the family home; his parents, Howard and Myrtle Spurling of Day Creek; a brother, James, Urbana, Ill.' three sisters, Donna Swanberg, Seattle; Patricia Lindstrom of San Jose, Calif., and Sharon Bode, Glendora, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 1976 at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church, Seattle, and graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery.
