Died at age 82. He was a restaurant operator in Lodge Grass. His funeral was held at Chivers Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Karl M. Johnson of Hardin Church of the Open Bible officiating.
James married Edith Mae Clow September 17, 1899 in Bedford,Thomas County,Nebraska. He farmed with his brother Henry in that state for several years before he and his wife moved to Lodge Grass in 1932. Three children preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
He was survived by his widow of Hardin; a granddaughter, Mrs. Roy Zler (not sure of spelling, print is blurred) of Hardin, and three great-grandsons.
Bullis Mortuary in Hardin was in charge of arrangements.
