the Lewiston Daily Sun:
"LEEDS-- George Morrison Foss, 81, died at his home Monday morning following a long illness.
"He was born at Leeds Feb. 16, 1881 son of Walter Payson Foss and Harriett Cox Foss. He was educated in Leeds schools and was graduated from Kent's Hill Seminary in 1900. For five years he was office manager for the paper company in Waterville. He then returned to his birth place where for many years he was a plumber and poultry worker. He was a Baptist and supporter of the Union Chapel at North Leeds built by his great-grandfather. He was a member of the Asylum Lodge of Masons, Wayne. He was an ardent tennis player, playing until 70 years of age on his own court.
"Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Coolidge, Leeds; two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren. A son Lauriston died many years ago."
