Miss Grace Dovel, 88, a lifelong resident of the Pleasant Valley Community, died at 1:45 p. m. Thursday at the Hildebrand Nursing Home. Mrs. Dovel had been a patient in the nursing home for
eight years but only became critically ill yesterday morning.

A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dovel, she was born on April 8, 1873 at Pleasant Valley and spent practically her entire life in this community. She was a member of the Cooks Creek Congregation of the Church of the Brethren and In former years was a member and Sunday School teacher of the former Pleasant Run Church at Pleasant Valley.

She was a charter member of the Dayton Aid Society, now Circle No. 2 of the Dayton Church of the Brethren.

Her only survivors are two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Mary Dovel, of Mt. Crawford; and Mrs. Delia Dovel, of Harrisonburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. The Elder W. F. Flory will conduct the services and burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery at Bridgewater.

The body is at the funeral home where the members of the family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:30 until 8:30.

The members of Circle No. 2 of the Dayton Church of the Brethren will serve as honorary attedants. Relatives, friends, pallbearers and honorary attendants are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3:15 Sunday afternoon.
