Mrs. J.D. Martin, Sr. Buried Here Friday Afternoon
Buried in the family lot in Evergreen. Her death occurred at her home in Sylvester Thursday afternoon after an illness of several weeks.
Rev. J.J. Sizemore, pastor of the Perry Baptist church assisted Rev. E.L. Baskins, pastor of the Sylvester Baptist church in conducting the burial service. Funeral held at the home Friday afternoon with The Rev. Baskins officiating.
Survived by husband, a Confederate veteran; one son, Henry Martin of Sylvester; two daughters, Mrs. J.R. Miler of Sylvester, and Mrs. C.E. Brunson of Perry; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She moved to Sylvester from Perry in 1905 with Mr. Martin. She was born and reared near Perry and was Mrs. Neltie Camp [previous marriage or misspelling of Kemp??] before her marriage. Many friend in Perry to mourn her death. Followed by a listing of out-of-town relatives and friends attending the burial.
