John Albers Passes Away Here on Monday
John W. Albers, 82, resident of this section for 60 years, passed away early Monday afternoon at the St. Clare hospital after a lingering illness.
Mr. Albers was born at Salem, S. D., on Oct. 12, 1887. He moved with his family to Cottonwood, Idaho, in 1903. In 1910 he took up a homestead in Pleasant Valley, north of Fort Benton.
On June 15, 1915, he was united in marriage to Frances Toennis, who had also filed on a homestead in Pleasant Valley, at Cottonwood, Idaho. They returned to Montana making their home in the valley. Mr. and Mrs. Albers moved to Fort Bdnton in 1948. Four sons were born to this union, Herbert, Edward, Lawrence and William Albers. In addition to his wife and four sons, he is survived by 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Albers and sister, Mrs. Kate Forsmann, both of Cottonwood, Idaho.
Requiem Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception church here with Msgr. John Regan officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
