Funeral services for Minnie Schmidt age 70 who died Monday of this week at St Croix hospital were held Wednesday at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church. She was at the hospital for seven days having been taken there following an illness which had lasted the duration of the summer. Mrs Schmidt suffered from Hogdkins disease.
Survivors are her daughter Rose, a grandson Donald and a daughter in law Mrs Paul Liljenberg, a grand daughter Mrs Holger Vaher, great grand daughter Linda Vaher, one sister, Mrs Alice Holm of Lindstrom and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs Schmidt was born in Nicollet County January 19, 1881 and was confirmed there. She married March 24, 1903 in Chicago, IL to Frank Albin Anderson. He died about 1907. The couple had two children William and Rose, William was married to Minnie Eckdahl and had one daughter, Mrs Holger Vaher. He died about 1934. The daughter Rose was married and had one son Donald. Albert Schmidt died March 3, 1949.
Mr and Mrs Schmidt had lived for a time in Canada and came to this country in 1918 residing on a farm north of Shafer from that time to 1935 when they moved to Lindstrom. Officiating at the services was Pastor O.T. Erickson. Pallbearers were Lawrence Andrews, George Ackerson, George MElander, Royal Carlson, Vernon Christman and Clarence Ahlrstrand. Interment was at the church cemetary in Center City.
