Robert Biles Snodgrass was born on April 1, 1902, in Sparta, Tennessee to David J. Snodgrass and Hallie Hill. He had three brothers and six sisters.
He died in childhood as the result of a large kettle of hot water turning over on him and scalding him on December 14, 1903, in his home.
His brother Sam Snodgrass, who was my step grandfather, related his brother's story to me when I was playing as a child near the very fireplace where the kettle had heated. Sam said he never would forget as long as he lived.
