Hometown: Moroni, UT

Dorothy Lamb Nielsen was born May 22, 1929, to Arthur and Altheria Davis Lamb in Wales, UT.

She was released of her life on earth on July 24, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.

She loved growing up in Wales, UT with tree lined ditches, mountain fresh air, and beautiful sun rises, and spoke often about those wonderful days with her family and friends.

She married Earl Ray Nielsen June 16, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived most of their married life in Moroni, UT.

She served in their LDS ward in various callings, especially enjoying her 6 years at the Manti Temple. She always had a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and taught her children not only by example, but also as a personal best friend to each.

Her family and their accomplishments were her focus as a wife and mother. She loved having fun, Christmas, family home evenings, providing good meals, having a clean home, and visits from loved ones, and acquaintances. It was a joy in her life to love others and help lift their spirits with her pleasant attitude, skills, and musical talent.

She worked outside the home at Moroni Processing Plant and also cooked and served school lunch.

She loved children, especially her 41 grand children and 61 great grand children.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl, 4sons, Gerald (Karen Sue); James (Diane); Jay (Julie); Jeff (Julee); 4 daughters, Dianne (John) Allred; Karen (Richard) Hansen; Christine (Todd) Peacock; Lorraine (Warren) Bailey and their families.
