D.C. BARNUM
D.C. Barnum, after an illness of several weeks, died at his home on Wednesday afternoon of heart disease, aged 73 years. Deceased was an old and respected citizen of Waupaca. The family have the sympathy of all neighbors and friends in their hours of sorrow. The funeral will take place this (Friday) afternoon from the residence, Rev. Perry Millar conducting the service.

In Memory of D.C. Barnum.
Dan C. Barnum died at his home in Waupaca, July 9, 1890, at the age of 73. The deceased was born at Monkton, Vt., April 25, 1817.
At the age of twenty-seven he left his native state and came to the west, and settled in Green Lake county, while Wisconsin was yet a territory. In 1855 he moved to Crystal River, Waupaca county and has been a citizen of this county ever since. In 1865 he moved into Waupaca and has since been a resident of this city. By his many good qualities he has won the respect of a large number of friends and relatives. In 1861 he was married to his surviving wife, who with two children, a son and a daughter, mourn his loss. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Waupaca for twenty-three years, joining in 1867, while J.M. Olmstead was pastor. Mr. Barnum has also been a member of the Waupaca Masonic lodge of this city for a number of years and his funeral was conducted under the rites of the order assisted by Rev. Perry Millar, a large number of the bretheren and friends following the remains to Waupaca cemetery where they were laid to rest Friday afternoon last.
