Garry Bledsoe, 64, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011.
He was born on April 5, 1947 to Garrett and Nelda Burd Bledsoe in Paoli, IN. He was an U.S. Army Veteran serving as a military police officer in Korea during the Vietnam War era. He was a retired pipefitter from the Local #522, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sellersburg where he was the minister of prayer. He enjoyed golfing, screen printing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Garrett Bledsoe.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown Bledsoe; sons, Kevin Bledsoe (Amy) of Broken Arrow, OK, James Bledsoe (Diana) of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Jason Bledsoe (Janet) of Memphis, IN; mother, Nelda Bledsoe of Otisco, IN; sister, Westa Goodwin of Charlestown, IN; brother, Mark Bledsoe (Kay) of Borden, IN; grandchildren, Katelin, Parker, Mallory, Isaiah, Grant, Camden, Caleb, Isaac, Micaiah, Luke, and Molly; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:30pm at the First Baptist Church in Charlestown, with burial in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 2pm to 8pm at the Grayson Funeral Home, and after 1pm on Wednesday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the First Baptist Church in Sellersburg, IN.
