Barbara B. Rossetto, 67, of Lucedale, Miss., died Jan. 31, 2011, after an auto accident near Mobile, Ala. Born Barbara Wilhelmina Bilbo on April 15, 1943 in Gulfport, Miss., she was the daughter of James O. and Wilhelmina (Wettstein) Bilbo. After graduating Gulfport High School in 1960, she joined Pi Beta Phi and earned a bachelors of arts degree in education from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She was married to Charles R. Assaf for 10 years and lived in Florida, Oklahoma and Kansas. During her tenure with Bubeck Service Agency Inc. air conditioning of Overland Park, where she started as a secretary, she worked her way to office manager and executive assistant to the owner. She later worked for Treasury Drug. She was a proud founding member of Johnson County Businesswomen and served as president. After moving to Lucedale, Miss., in 1992 she worked for Trane air conditioning and heating until her death. Granny Barbara was dedicated and hard working, whether in the office or at home. She was an amazing cook who mastered the microwave. She took great pride in her home and had many collections, including Avon perfume bottles. She is survived by her daughter Leslie D. Assaf, grandchildren Schuyler D. Bowen and Bubba Bowen of Kansas City, Kan.; son Christopher T. (Carol) Assaf of Towson, Md.; step-son Stephen Rossetto of Topeka and grandchild Elizabeth Rossetto; step-daughter Suzanne (Weston) Meier of Topeka and grandchildren Stephanie Nelson, Ashton Meier and Nathan Meier; sister Ruth (Billie Jo) Davis of Bude, MS; brothers Richard C. (Martha) Hagerty of El Paso, TX, and Harve J. (Mary Sue) Hagerty of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas J. Rossetto, sister Joyce Glasscock and sister Patricia B. Hamp. Funeral service will be at Juniper Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Poplarville, Miss., on Saturday, July 30 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider the American Heart Association .
