Harold L. Brock, 90, died July 21, 2011, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, in the Clifford Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Clifford Funeral Home.

RUTLAND - Harold L. "Hal" Brock, 90, died July 21, 2011, at his home after a long illness.

He was born March 16, 1921, in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of Lawrence and Florence (Snyder) Brock.

He was educated in New York state schools.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He served in the European theater of operations and participated in the Allied invasions of Sicily and Italy.

He was a former resident of Syracuse, N.Y., moving to Rutland in 1980.

Mr. Brock was a member of Rutland Elks Lodge 345 and Rutland American Legion Post 31.

He enjoyed cooking and fishing at Chittenden Dam.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor (McKinstry) Hughes Brock, of Rutland; stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his former wife, Catherine Brock, in 2001, and by a brother, Kenneth Brock.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, in the Clifford Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
