Norma Jean Richards, 75, of LaHarpe, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Norma was born November 21, 1935, in St. Clair County, Missouri, the daughter of Irus Clark and Julia Frances (Tucker) Wisner.
She graduated from high school in Lowry, Missouri. She moved to Gas, Kansas.
Norma married Kenneth L. Richards and they made their home in LaHarpe, KS. He preceded her in death in February of 2004.
She worked a number of years for the Allen County Livestock Auction along with working for the Day Dairy near Bronson.
She was a member of the Moran Christian Church.
Survivors include seven children and their spouses, one of Kansas City, Kansas; one of Mason City, Iowa, one of Westland, Michigan, one of Missouri; one of LaHarpe, Kansas, one of Kansas; nine step-children; 48 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; 4 children; and 3 grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the Moran Christian Church. Pastor Bill LaPorte will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial are suggested to the American Cancer Society, or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, KS, is in charge of arrangements.
