William Harney, 85,
Answers Final Call

William P. Harney, 85, passed away
December 14 at his home south of
Oxford. He resided on the same farm
for the last 51 years.
- He was born April 3, 1856 at Iowa
City and was united in marriage to
Jennie Harrold August 30, 1890 at
St. Mary's church in Iowa City with
Rev. Emmons performing the ceremony.
Funeral services were held in St.
Mary's church, Oxford, Tuesday morning
with Father P. J. Ryan officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
He was a faithful member of the
Catholic church all his life.
Surviving are the widow and seven
children, Thomas of Davenport, Anthony
and Wilma Hanson of Willliamsburg,
Genevieve Bell of Lone Tree,
Ambrose of Iowa City, Mildred Tomash
and William, Jr.,: of Oxford. He
also leaves one brother, J. J. Harney
of Oxford and 22 grandchildren and
one great grandchild. He was preceded
in death by a daughter, Edna.

acts of sympathy extended us in the
loss of our husband and father.
