Kathleen J. Kerns Grove, 84, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson.

Born June 10, 1923, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late John W. Kerns and Grace P. Hawvermale Kerns.

Kathleen was a homemaker.

She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Martinsburg and formerly a member of Frances Asbury United Methodist Church, where she served as a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service (WSCS). She was also a member of the Altar Guild.

She was a Volunteer Pink Lady at the Morgan County War Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

She is survived by her daughter, June E. Hendricks and husband Jeff, of Kearneysville; sister, Norma L. Ambrose, of Martinsburg; grandson, Tyler Lane Hendricks, of Kearneysville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson N. Grove, who died Nov. 16, 2004; sister, Doris Stillson; and brother, J. Andrew Kerns.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 36 S. Green St., Berkeley Springs.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Susan Grove Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
