*** Many thanks to S.R.F. (#47738583) for the following info:

Virginia Deaths and Burials says he was born in Grayson, Virginia and died at age 50 in 1751 (so born 1701) at Grayson, Virginia.

His parents married in 1690, so I don't think he was born in 1689. His other siblings were also born after 1700.

and then wrote:

"I just read a lengthy biography of James Anderson with the birth and death dates and locations that you have for him on his memorial. The biography firmly states that this James Anderson was the son of THOMAS Anderson, not of Robert Anderson and Mary Overton. This James Anderson (1689-1751) was named in the Will of Thomas Anderson."
