Melvin A. Marshall, 84 of Hanover died at 11:50 p..m, Friday, April 9, 1999, at The Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. He was the husband of the late Doris A. (Byron) Marshall who died November 16, 1998.

Born July 29, 1914 in Manchester, Md., he was the son of the late Winfield and Sarah Marshall.

He was a member of Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Brodbecks. He was also a member of the Mason Dixon Historical Society.

He retired from K.E. Constructoin where he worked as a carpenter.

Surviving are a son; Paul W. Marshall of Hanover; a stepdaughter, Brenda L. Brown of Jacksonville, Fla; two granddaughters and a stepgrandson.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Black Rock Church of the Brethren, Brodbecks, with the Rev. Nancy Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the church. Kenworthy Gunderal Home Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers will be Franklin Bierkamp, Allen Kennedy, Jeff Bierkamp, Kelley Eicholtz and Barry Spangler.
