Gerald A. Sill, 76, of Edgerton, passed away Wednesday at his home with his family by his side. He was born on Jan. 7, 1935, in Ladysmith, WI, the son of the late Elton and Mildred (Baker) Sill. He met and married his wife, Mary Ellen Carew, in 1960, and celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary just last year. Gerald graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in industrial engineering. An accomplished engineer, he worked for many years in the trailer industry, retiring in 2005 as Vice President of Engineering at Stoughton Trailers in Stoughton, WI. His greatest joy in life was his family with whom he shared his love for skiing, golf, and traveling the world. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of Edgerton; children: Carey Sill of Bartlett, TN, Patrick Sill of Janesville, WI, and Mary (Bruce) Sill-Jensen of Camp Douglas, WI; grandchildren: Zachary Rudolph, Daniel Rudolph, and Julia Jensen; and sisters, Carol (Don) Suhsen of Phillips, WI, and Julie (Leroy) Gorsegner of Coon Rapids, MN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Peter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, EDGERTON, with Father David Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation times will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the CHURCH.
