Clara Mary Brown, nee Thies, was born May 20, 1881 near Palatine, Ill., was brought up in a christian family, went through public school, studied music, graduated and was a teacher of music for a number of years.

She was converted to God in her youth, joined the Evangelical church, and was a true member of the same until death. She was a good worker for God, a good teacher, and a very efficient Sunday school superintendent for years. November 30, 1911, she married Frank Brown and lived a happy married life. Her illness was jaundice.

She died March 31, 1925, age 48 years, 10 months and 11 days. She leaves a sorrowing husband, two brothers, six sisters and many relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held in the home in Palatine at 1 o'clock p.m. Friday, April 3. The pastor read the scripture. The quartette [sic] of Barrington sang the favorite hymn of the deceased. Rev. E. K. Yeakel of Barrington led in prayer. A large congregation met in the Barrington church at 2 p.m. and the quartette [sic] again sang appropriate hymns. Pastor C. A. Fuessle spoke in German and Rev. E. K. Yeakel, minister of the Evangelical church of Barrington spoke in English. The remains were laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery near Barrington, Ill., where they rest till the morning of the ressurrection [sic].
