Anson Garrison was the 1st husband of Dr. Mary Almeda (Thurston) Garrison Pomeroy. They were married January 5, 1843. Mary died January 13, 1891. Anson was murdered with an axe by his brother-in-law, John Metcalf Thurston. Anson was a foreman in an iron foundry in Owego, New York at the time of his death.
