Rites Pending For Pioneer Perkins Man. Funeral services for Walter Emerson Bridenstine, 73, of Rt. Two, Perkins, who died today in Stillwater Municipal hospital, will be announced later by Strode Funeral Home.
Bridenstine was born in Missouri on Feb. 24, 1887. He married Metta Joyce Stewart at Coyle on Dec. 24, 1910. After her death in 1958 he was married to Edith Owsley at Friends Chapel on Sept. 10, 1960. He came to Oklahoma in 1897 and has lived near Coyle and Perkins most of the time since.
Survivors include: his wife Edith, four sons, Carl Bridenstine, Perkins; Olaf Bridenstine, Cottage Grove, Oregon; Val Bridenstine, Topeka, Kans.; Hiram Bridenstine, Danville, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Flora Cundiff, Perkins; Mrs. Dea Mille, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Neva Berry, Bunderkill, Kans.** Also surviving are two brothers, Vern Bridenstine, Albuquerque, N.M.; Gene Bridenstine, Coyle; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Smith, Hobart; and Mrs. Ethel Debbs, Seattle, Wash.; and 27 grandchildren.
