Robert's first wife was Sarah A. Cull, daughter of David Watson Cull. They were married on Jan 5, 1853 in Owen Co. Kentucky.

He married second, Mrs. H. J. Bell (Hulda M. Stovall), Oct. 11, 1875, McLennan Co. Texas.

Sergeant Robert Scott Crowder served in Co. "C" 30th Texas Cavalry, 13th Texas Reg, CSA for 3 years. Enlisted in Waco, Texas in the fall of 1862. Released from service at the end of the war.
