Arlene A. Caron 86, of Indianapolis, passed away March 17, 2010. She was born January 12, 1924 in Shelbyville, IN to George V. and Irene G. Lieland.

She worked for Western Electric as a secretary for 20 years, retiring in 1979. Arlene was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and volunteered for Toys for Love. She was a dedicated member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was involved with many ministries there including: embroidering baptismal bibs, singing in the funeral choir and visiting the homebound. She was a very creative and artistic person who had a great sense of humor, and was never at a loss for a joke. She also loved playing bridge and golf with her friends and family.

Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Philip H. Caron; sister, Vern Grace Soller and brother, Melvin G. Lieland. She is survived by her children, Vicki A. (John) Williams, Jay P. (Karen) Caron, Phyllis A. (James) Stofa and Toby I. (Jerry) Gearries; seven grandchildren; four step-grandsons; 16 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
