Bombardier - WWII

Excerpt from his brother John's email - 2004

"He and I were home together on leave Christmas of '43. I had completed 2 years duty on the North Atlantic -- convoy escort and anti-sub warfare -- and was in New Orleans awaiting re-assignment. He had completed his training -- had his Bombardier's wings and was slated to go overseas soon. He went overseas in April and was killed in May."

"And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me."

I'm Proud To Be An American
~Lee Greenwood
