Telegram Creates Doubt About Death of Albert C Temples of Batesburg
Batesburg, Dec 21 [1918] - Mr and Mrs J C Temples, who were advices by the war department of the death of their son, Corp Albert C Temples, from wounds received in action on September 18, are in receipt of a second telegram stating that "Corp Albert C Temples, infantry, previously reported dead, September 18, from wounds received in action, is now reported wounded in hospital October 3."

This second telegram, of course, revives hope in the hearts of Mr and Mrs Temples, but two facts operate to create doubt as to whether their son is still living. The second telegram, although received December 15, is dated October 14, and they have not heard from their son, directly or indirectly, since that date. The matter has been turned over to the Red Cross for investigation.
